Gadsden City High School has a new Best Buddies Chapter. Best Buddies (BB) is an international organization that supports inclusion of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in schools and communities through friendship. The goal of Best Buddies is to build friendships between people with and without IDD, offering social mentoring while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion. Pairs of students are matched as buddies each school year. BB provides an opportunity for general education students to be leaders as they plan events and monthly group activities with their buddies while promoting disability awareness and inclusion of IDD students at Gadsden City High School.
